More than a cover
Modern bumpers combine a plastic cover, a reinforcement bar, foam or plastic absorbers and mounting brackets. Many also hold parking sensors, fog lights or radar for driver-assistance features. A proper bumper repair checks each of these, not just the paint.
Repair or replace?
Repair can make sense for scuffs and minor cracks with intact mounting tabs. Replacement is usually the right call when the cover is torn, tabs are broken or the reinforcement is bent. Send photos of the bumper and the area underneath and we will explain the options.

Frequently asked questions
Can a cracked bumper be repaired?
Small cracks and tears in plastic bumper covers can sometimes be repaired. Large tears, missing pieces or broken mounting tabs usually mean the cover should be replaced.
Why check behind the bumper after a minor accident?
The bumper cover is a skin. Behind it are a reinforcement bar, energy absorbers and brackets that do the work in a crash, plus parking sensors on many vehicles. These can be damaged even when the cover looks fine.
My bumper has parking sensors. Does that change the repair?
Yes. Sensors need to be removed and refitted correctly, and they can be affected by paint thickness or mounting position. Tell us about sensors or driver-assistance features when you request an estimate.
Is it OK to drive with a loose bumper?
A bumper that is hanging or dragging can come off at speed and is a hazard to you and other drivers. Secure it or have it repaired before highway driving.
